Glenavon Brangus Stud was established in 1994, and is run by Joe & Jill Atkinson and family. The operation consists of approximately 600 stud and commercial breeders, plus 120 replacement heifers run on Sanders at Dingo, steers and cull females are finished off on Sagittarius at Blackwater. Breeders are seasonally mated from Christmas through to the end of April, cows are preg. tested at weaning and all empty cows are culled.

Bullocks are sold off as Jap Ox at 2 ½ years, while cull heifers are sold into the local trade market. Our bulls come from the top percentage of male calves, they are selected on type, temperament, easy doing ability, clean coated, well muscled, good sheathed and early maturity.

Our sale bulls are paddock reared, with 100 days of silage preparation before the sale. Paddock bulls are always available.
